Loans for farmers under 40 years old
Program Description
FCC provides financing for qualified producers under the age of 40 through the Young Farmer Loan. This program allows you to purchase agriculture related assets of up to $2,000,000 even with limited credit experience. You can also avail of the Starter Loan where you can receive up to $150,000 and establish or expand your operation.
Steps to Apply
1. Confirm eligibility as a qualified producer under 40 years old
2. Prepare a comprehensive business plan detailing the purchase of a farm or agriculture-related assets
3. Gather necessary financial documents, including a net worth statement, past three years of tax returns or accountant-prepared financial statements, recent pay stubs or employer verification for off-farm income (if applicable), government-issued photo ID, shareholder agreements (if any), existing operating loan agreements (if applicable), and a cash flow budget
4. Contact Farm Credit Canada (FCC) by calling 1-888-332-3301 or visiting a local FCC office to discuss the Young Farmer Loan and obtain the application form
5. Complete the application form accurately and thoroughly
6. Submit the completed application form along with all required documentation to FCC
