Funding to enhance water management on Alberta farms

The Water Program supports agricultural water management by helping primary producers adopt agriculture water better management practices and priority actions. This supports better management of risks to water quality and supplies, adaptation to climate variability and the efficient use of water resources.

1. Review the Water Program Terms and Conditions to confirm eligibility 2. Ensure proposed activities are listed in the On-Farm Irrigation Stream Funding List or On-Farm Water Supply Stream Funding List 3. For dugouts, dams, and spring developments, consult an Agriculture and Irrigation Water Specialist at 310-FARM to obtain an approved Construction Sheet 4. Complete and sign the Water Program Application form 5. Gather supporting documents, including proof of income, land ownership or lease, and any required water licences or amendments 6. Submit the completed application form and supporting documents via email or mail to the appropriate address
