Wage subsidy to hire students

The Summer Employment Program for Students (SEPS) provides funding to assist private sector businesses and not‐for‐profit organizations create summer employment for post‐secondary and high school students. Through this program, students benefit by gaining valuable work experience that will facilitate future labour market participation. Eligible students must be entering or returning to postsecondary training in the upcoming academic year or be currently enrolled in high school – level I, II or III or moving from the intermediate level (Grade 9) to Level I in September 2024 and both must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

1. Review the program guidelines to understand eligibility criteria and requirements 2. Ensure your organization has a Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) business number and, if incorporated, is in good standing with Company and Deeds Online (CADO) 3. Register as a government vendor and obtain a LaMPSS User ID by completing the Employer Registration form 4. Log into the LaMPSS system using your User ID and password 5. Complete and submit the online application in LaMPSS before the application deadline 6. After submission, monitor your LaMPSS account for updates on the application status
