Program Description
The START Program helps connect employers with unemployed Nova Scotians who can fill their job vacancies. For employers, START offers a wage incentive and other types of funding if they hire an unemployed Nova Scotian. For unemployed individuals, START provides a letter that helps them market their skills and the program to potential employers.
Steps to Apply
1. Review the START Program Guidelines to understand eligibility and requirements
2. Register for an account in the online Labour Market Programs Support System (LaMPSS)
3. Prepare a detailed job description for the position you intend to fill
4. Complete the START Program application form through the LaMPSS portal
5. Attach the job description and any other required documents to your application
6. Submit the completed application electronically via the LaMPSS portal
