Resilient Agricultural Landscape Program (RALP) - Perennial Biomass Crops

Funding to make Ontario agricultural lands more resilient

RALP funding supports the planting/establishment and on-going maintenance of perennial biomass crops (e.g., switchgrass) on annual cropland in Ontario. Increasing the frequency of perennial biomass crops in annual crop rotations and conversion of marginal and high-risk annual croplands to perennial biomass crops results in more resilient agricultural landscapes, with an increased ability to sequester carbon, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, reduce soil erosion and provide many other ecological benefits.

1. Review the Resilient Agricultural Landscape Program Guide to understand eligibility criteria and application requirements 2. Create an account on the OSCIA Portal and complete the Enrolment Form 3. Obtain a valid premises identification (PID) number 4. Complete the 4th Edition Environmental Farm Plan and obtain a certificate of completion 5. Prepare a detailed site map of the project location based on a satellite image 6. Obtain a letter of support from a qualified, arms-length third-party using the provided template 7. Gather documentation to support your farm business eligibility, such as a valid farm business registration number (FBRN) or an exemption letter if applicable 8. Complete the Application Form with all required information 9. Submit the completed application and all supporting documents electronically through the OSCIA Portal
