Funding to support francophone businesses and communities in the Prairie region
Program Description
The Economic Development Initiative (EDI) provides financial support to projects that encourage economic diversification, business development, innovation, partnerships and increased support for small and medium-sized enterprises in official language minority communities (OLMCs).
Steps to Apply
1. Contact your local Francophone Economic Development Organization (FEDO) to discuss your project idea and receive initial guidance
2. Prepare required documentation, including a business plan, financial statements, project proposal detailing objectives and expected outcomes, proof of working in French, and any additional documents requested by the FEDO
3. Develop a clear project proposal demonstrating its impact and measurable benefits in sectors such as economic diversification, economic immigration, the green economy, youth, or tourism
4. Complete the application form provided by your local FEDO and submit it along with all required documentation, ensuring all sections are filled out accurately and completely
5. Maintain communication with your local FEDO to address any questions or additional information requests they may have during the review process
