Money for Ontario export-ready book publishers
Program Description
The Global Market Development Fund provides eligible Ontario companies with funding to participate in international activities that support company growth and produce measurable business and market development results (sales, pre-sales, financing, licensing and/or rights deals, audience awareness, media coverage, partnership development, etc.). The proposed global market development plan must support the company s publishing and exploitation activities in relation to a catalogue of titles. Primary activities supported include targeted sales trips and attendance at international market events.
The Global Market Development Fund will provide up to $15,000 capped at 50% of a participating company s eligible expenses to engage in international business and market development activities between August 1, 2025 and August 31, 2026.
Steps to Apply
1. Review eligibility criteria in the program guidelines
2. Register your company's corporate information with the Ontario Creates Online Application Portal (OAP)
3. Create a user account on the OAP if you don't have one
4. Prepare required documents, including financial statements and a detailed business plan
5. Log in to the OAP and start a new application for the Global Market Development Fund – Book program
6. Complete the application form, upload necessary documents, and save your progress
7. Review and edit your application as needed before submission
8. Submit the completed application by the deadline: May 1, 2025, 5:00 pm ET
