What is this funding for?
Funding to support new farmers
Program Description
The Future Farmer Program will support business sector capacity growth and competitiveness by supporting new farmers to improve the probability that they establish or continue profitable and sustainable commercial farm businesses. The program will help new entrants identify and prioritize their business goals and will help them identify planning, management and technical skills that are needed to reach their goals.
Steps to Apply
1. Review eligibility criteria
2. Prepare required documents
3. Create an account on the grant portal
4. Complete the Future Farmer Program General Application Form, providing details on residency, citizenship, education, farm history, experience, farming income, and environmental farm plans
5. If applying for specific funding categories, fill out the relevant appendices: Appendix A for Analytical Laboratory Testing Reimbursement, Appendix B for Business Risk Management Reimbursement, Appendix C for On-Farm Project Application, and/or Appendix D for Training Approval Request
6. Submit the completed application form and any applicable appendices to the PEI Department of Agriculture via email at futurefarmer@gov.pe.ca or by mail to 11 Kent Street, PO Box 2000, Charlottetown PE C1A 7N8
