Program Description
The Fuel Competition Assistance Program provides assistance on taxable gasoline, diesel, dyed diesel, and propane sales made by fuel dealers located along the Alberta and Manitoba borders. The level of assistance is based on the tax rate differential between Saskatchewan and Alberta or Manitoba, as the case may be, and the shortest distance as measured by a public road between the fuel dealer and the nearest competition in the neighbouring province.
Steps to Apply
1. Review eligibility criteria to ensure your service station or bulk fuel dealership qualifies for the program
2. Obtain the Fuel Competition Assistance Application form
3. Complete the application form with accurate business and fuel purchase details
4. Gather supporting documents, including fuel purchase invoices
5. For bulk fuel dealers, compile a list of customers and the distance of each from their nearest Alberta or Manitoba fuel dealer
6. Submit the completed application and all supporting documents to the Ministry of Finance, Revenue Division, PO Box 200, Regina, SK S4P 2Z6
