Manitoba film and video production tax credit on eligible labour
Program Description
The Manitoba Film & Video Production Cost-of-Salaries Tax Credit was announced in 1997, and provides production companies with a fully refundable corporate income tax credit based on eligible Manitoba labour expenses. The base credit is 45% and additional bonuses may apply increasing the value up to 65% on eligible Manitoba expenditures.
Steps to Apply
1. Review eligibility criteria for the Cost-of-Salaries Tax Credit
2. Register or log in to the Manitoba Film & Music online application portal
3. Complete the Manitoba Labour Expenditures Worksheet and Declaration of Principal Owner
4. Submit deeming requests for non-Manitoba residents before principal photography begins
5. Fill out the application form on the portal
6. Upload all required documents
7. Review and submit the completed application
