Business training and planning funding for agri-businesses in Prince Edward Island

The Business Development Program will support the agriculture sector by providing funding for training, business planning and implementation, organizational development, benchmarking and risk management activities. The program will facilitate the development of sound business practices and is designed to enhance the capacity of PEI Agricultural producers, small to medium-sized agri-businesses and organizations to better understand and manage their financial performance, respond to change and maximize the use of comprehensive risk management options for their agriculture operations.

1. Review eligibility criteria for the desired sub-program 2. Obtain the Business Development Program General Application Form and relevant appendices 3. Gather required information: applicant contact details, business or organization information (including CRA registration number), project start and end dates, additional funding sources, recipient type, industry type, and optional demographic information 4. Prepare a project proposal outlining objectives, timeline, expected results, budget, and evaluation methods 5. Collect supporting documents: consultant's resume and professional certifications (if applicable), financial statements, and any other required documentation 6. Complete the application form and relevant appendices 7. Sign the declaration and consent for personal information 8. Submit the completed application package via regular mail or email to the PEI Department of Agriculture
