Arts Across Canada and Abroad — Translation

Funding for arts translations

Translation is part of the Arts Across Canada and Abroad program. It funds activities related to the translation of Canadian literary works or dramatic works into French, English, an Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit or Métis) language from the land now known as Canada, American Sign Language (ASL), Quebec Sign Language (LSQ) or any other regional or Indigenous sign language for publication or presentation in Canada. In the case of sign language translation, sign language should be one of the languages of presentation. For the translation of literary works, the Canada Council for the Arts administers the National Translation Program for Book Publishing (NTPBP) on behalf of the Department of Canadian Heritage and it acknowledges the financial support of the Government of Canada.
