What is this funding for?
Matching funding to mitigate on-farm risks
Program Description
AgriInvest is one of the business risk management programs the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (Sustainable CAP).
AgriInvest is a self-managed producer-government savings account designed to help you manage small income declines and make investments to manage risk and improve market income.
Each year, you can deposit up to 100% of your Allowable Net Sales to your AgriInvest account and receive a matching government contribution on 1% of your Allowable Net Sales.
Steps to Apply
1. Review eligibility criteria
2. Prepare required financial documents
3. Submit tax information using the appropriate form (T1163 for individuals or Statement A for corporations, trusts, and special individuals)
4. Receive deposit notice from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) detailing maximum matchable deposit and deadlines
5. Open an AgriInvest account at a participating financial institution if not already established
6. Make a deposit into your AgriInvest account by the deadline specified in the deposit notice
